Siwaliks is the biodiversity rich foothills of the Indian Himalayas. This region falls under four states and two union territories of India. About 3000 km2 area of this region is falls under the protected area network. It has four national parks, 16 wildlife sanctuaries, 13 conservation reserves and two community reserves.
